Norwalk Events: Labor Day with the RCA

Enjoy these Labor Day weekend events on Bayley Beach (11 Pine Point Rd.) presented by the Rowayton Civic Association.
Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, August 31, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Co-ed teams of local residents ages 14 and up will compete for bragging rights in a fun, pool-play-format tournament. Six players on the court at any time with a minimum of two women. You don’t need to be registered on a team to be a spectator! Bring a cooler and come join in on the fun.
Ladrigan Swim Races on Sunday, September 1, starting at 10:30 a.m. (check in is 7:30 – 9:30). The swim races start with the Lighthouse Race (a one-mile swim from Green’s Ledge Lighthouse to shore). Following the Lighthouse Race is the Buoy Race (a swim from the buoy to the shore). Last but certainly not least, are the Children’s Swim Races, which are grouped by age and run parallel to the beach. After the awards ceremony, all are invited to join in the traditional beach games, including tug-of-war, a pie-eating contest, and an egg toss.
The Summer Music Festival concludes with Junco Partners and opener Sound Waves, on Sunday, September 1, at 4:30 p.m. The Junco Partners play uptown roots, groove, and New Orleans soul music. Sound Waves is based out of Rowayton, and is strongly influenced by the best jam bands like The Dead, Phish, Goose, String Cheese Incident, and Govt. Mule, as well as classic rock and country.
