How many kids do you have and what are their ages?

We have one daughter Wesleigh, 4.5 years old and one furson Tucker, 10 years old.

What brought you and your family to town (Rowayton)?

Once I became pregnant with my daughter Wesleigh, it quickly became clear we were no longer interested in staying in NYC. My husband and I explored buying in the city, but once we started looking at properties in CT, we knew it would be the best decision for our growing family to head to greener pastures. When we discovered Rowayton, we immediately knew the town would be the perfect fit for us. It was important for us to be near the water and in a walking friendly neighborhood. Truth be told, the first time we came to visit, I felt chills driving through town.

What’s the best part about being part of the community?

I’m truly convinced Rowayton is straight out of a Hallmark movie. The town is incredibly charming, and we’ve met many kind and welcoming families since moving here. I understand why several people who grow up here end up returning and raising their children in town.

Tell us about your life & style blog and how you decided to launch it?

I launched my blog, Lindsey Boova as a creative outlet, to document and highlight my favorite home, motherhood and tot-friendly finds.  My intention is for the space to be a destination that provides inspirational and attainable sources dedicated to the mom next door, from the mom next door. On my socials, I break down more content through videos where I share even more.

You also are co-founder of your own interior design firm. Can you tell us more about that?

Dear Elizabeth Interiors is a boutique interior design firm creating inspired environments for functional living. My dear friend, Emily and I launched our firm two years ago, and named the studio after our mothers, both named Elizabeth who have nurtured our creative impulses since childhood. (Thanks Mom!)

I have a BFA in interior design and spent a decade plus leading strategic communications for international brands such as Donghia and Liaigre. Working alongside artisans of that caliber instilled a deep love and admiration for fine craftsmanship and good design. This commitment to quality and intentional living guide our design process. The result is an aesthetic that blends design from different periods by curating an eclectic assortment of styles, patterns, and textures to achieve a timeless look, personalized for each of our clients.

What’s your favorite family activity to do in the area?

This may sound cliché, but after dinner, we go for a walk to Brendan’s 101 and pick up ice cream. We take our cones over to the dock, watch the boats go by and enjoy the sunset together. It’s the little moments like this I cherish most.

How do you unwind when you need some “me time?”

It depends how much ‘me time’ I have! Lately, my ‘me time’ is after I get my daughter to bed, so I typically curl up on the sofa with Tucker, turn on the TV, have a cup of Jasmine tea and snack on Quinn Rosemary Parmesan Popcorn, because life is all about a healthy balance.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?

Well, my mother always told me ‘mom knows best’, and now that I’m a mother, I happen to agree.

Lindsey’s Local Favorites:

Grab Coffee: NEAT in Darien makes a great matcha latte.

Restaurants: For the record, we eat out A LOT.

For waterside dining we frequent The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood, or for a more casual vibe, Sunset Grille or Harbor Lights. I’m a big fan of Tacos Mexico for Mexican, Munay Kitchen or Mochica for Peruvian, Mama Chow for Southeast Asian, Village Gourmet for Chinese, Coals for pizza, Cka Ka Qellu for Albanian, and I love the ambience at Tavern at Graybarns for special occasions (although, my daughter has been there quite a few times!). I could go on and on about the many wonderful local restaurants which is why I’ve compiled some of my favorites on my local CT guide.

Parks: I’ve highlighted some of my go-to nearby parks on the guide as well, including the playground at Bayley Beach, The Playground at Bruce Park as well as the playground at Meade Park. We love visiting Stepping Stones Children’s Museum too.

Home Goods: As a design lover and someone who is tapped into trade sources, I’ve found CT to be filled with some fantastic home décor stores, many of which are local to Fairfield County. You may find some of my favorite sources here.
