OPUS for Person-to-Person announced today that its annual Summer benefit, this year entitled, A Summer Soiree: A Bright Summer Night, will take place at the Tokeneke Club in Darien, June 1, 2019. The event, which supports the Darien-based Person-to-Person (P2P), promises to be an unforgettable evening.
At this chic, yet casual summer affair, guests will kick-off the evening by toasting with a crisp libation from the Rosé wall, and enjoy passed hors’d’oeuvres, a seated dinner and an open bar filled with effervescent libations. As guests enjoy the summer ocean breeze and watch the sunset over the Long Island Sound, they will be surrounded by bright summer florals, including beautifully made flower crowns for guests to don. Dancing will be had by all under the twinkling night sky to the sounds of the acclaimed Finesse band.
Board Liaison Hillery Gibbons with Co-Chairs Elizabeth Banach, Mariely Clarkson, Laura Cortese, Megan Gemmell, Moriah Monsif, Cristina Paolazzi, Whitney Ranson and Sarah Vrabac, as well as the entire Summer Soiree committee have been hard at work since last summer planning an extraordinary evening. The Summer Soiree is the largest OPUS fundraiser of the year, and this event promises to be one of the most exciting social events this summer. Last year’s Masquerade Ball at The Country Club of Darien raised close to $100,000 for Person-to-Person. We are working towards another successful event again this year.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the OPUS for Person-to-Person summer fundraiser at the
Tokeneke Club this year,” said OPUS co-president, Shannon Doherty. “This year will mark the first time we are holding the event in the summer, and not only that, we are excited to offer guests a lower priced presale ticket option this year. It is sure to be a night to remember.”
Proceeds from the Summer Soiree will be used to support the P2P programs that directly benefit children, including Campership scholarships for children in need, the Holiday Toy Store, Baby Basics layettes for new mothers, and Scholarships for college. Each year, P2P serves more than 24,000 people from the seven towns of Darien, Stamford, Norwalk, New Canaan, Westport, Weston, and Wilton.
A limited amount of discounted presale tickets will go on sale in late February, and are available to OPUS members and non-members, with a discount for members. Additional details will be available on the OPUS website: www.opus4p2p.org. For information on becoming an OPUS member, please visit www.opus4p2p.org or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
