Frolic in the leaves and take part in field games, such as pumpkin ring toss, corn hole, and parachute games. Naturalists will also be leading autumn-themed relay races across the Green! Join the Nature Center anytime from 1-3pm for this FREE event!

Your vote counts as the ballot box is open until 3 pm! Meet and shake “hooves” with some of the candidates, try themed self-guided crafts, and scavenger hunts on Heckscher Farm. We’ll also get a chance to “Vote Local” with a tasting of local ice cream, 2:30-3 pm. A schedule of events will be available on our website closer to the event.

This class is tailor made for moms and babies up to 9 months of age. It is 45 minutes long. You will need:

Taking into consideration the unique postural alignment and core musculature issues related to the Post Natal period, this class provides a safe and effective barre fitness program as well as information about how to modify exercises in the first year after birth. We will discuss common issues such as pelvic floor dysfunction and abdominal separation (DR) all while moving and bonding with our little ones.

Cost: $90.
Young artists will explore the rich autumnal foliage of the Silvermine landscape. They will experiment with different color effects in creating a variegated surface while learning new techniques. Introduction to autumn landscape works by a variety of artists (i.e. Stuart Davis, Van Gogh, more) will be included. Students will combine details of what is observed in their plein en air studies with imagination through personal memories. The school will provide all materials. Students should bring a light nut-free snack.

Students will discover the life cycle of apple trees, as well the history, uses, and varieties of the amazing apple. Each child will participate in the making cider by adding apples to and working our old-fashioned, hand-operated press. When the work is done there is, of course, a toast and taste.
This field trip will take place at Stamford Museum and Nature Center. Admission will be covered by Darien Library. Please meet the Children’s Librarians at the Museum at 9:45 a.m.
