Staying local for August? It’s not too late to grab a Family Aquatics pass at the Rec. Center (Upstairs at Waveny House). $450 for the Waveny Pool and Kiwanis or just $10 for Kiwanis only! The pool is heated this year and Kiwanis now has lounge chairs. Swim lessons are available at both locations through Swim America (Register here)! Bring your kids and stay for lunch and/or dinner at the Apple Cart. Pizzas can also be delivered to Kiwanis.
There are still open camp spots at the YMCA! Camp Y-Ki is held at Kiwanis. It’s an exciting outdoor camp experience for school-age children, offering a variety of activities which help campers build self-esteem, confidence, independence and responsibility – all while enjoying outdoor summertime fun with friends. YMCA camps are held through August 19th which is longer than most!
August Fall Football Camp has unlimited spots (Grades 2-9). August 15-19th at the Waveny Field. Sign up through the Rec. Center here. Flag Football is the fastest growing sport in New Canaan and is a popular alternative to tackle football. They will structure each day to include skill training and flag football games. Players will learn the rules of Flag Football, develop skills needed including position assignments, de-flagging, running, passing, receiving and conditioning. The camp will serve as an extension of the Fall NCFFL Flag Football program with player evaluations conducted as a requirement of the program.
