In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, we’ve compiled some facts, resources and events to share with your families. Visit The King Center for more extensive resources and ways to celebrate MLK Day.

FACTS ABOUT MLK TO SHARE WITH YOUR KIDS:

  1. A Baptist minister and scholar, Dr. Martin Luther King was inspired by Ghandi’s peaceful protests.
  2. His “I Have a Dream” speech focused on the importance of peace, equality and freedom.
  3. When he received a Nobel Peace Prize at age 35, he was the youngest recipient at that time.

DOCUMENTARIES AND VIDEOS ABOUT MLK:

  1. “The March” documentary: King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech at the 1963 March on Washington.
