On April 4 the organization will present a Community Service Award to Maggie Gregory, Area Head of School, Fusion Academy, Greenwich & West-
chester. Six local and long-distance students with learning differences will also be recognized and awarded for their success and notable accomplishments. These recipients of the 2024 Fred J. Epstein Youth Achievement Awards will be announced at the Gala.

Maggie Gregory — the 2024 Minds in Bloom honoree — celebrates with Marc Hoffman, Board President, Smart Kids with Learning  Disabilities

Maggie Gregory is a School Business Administrator and dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience in working in secondary and higher education. Joining Fusion 11 years ago as an English teacher, Maggie has had the privilege of working closely with students facing diverse learning challenges. Maggie became Head of School of Fusion Greenwich in 2016, where she began partnering with families and community professionals to build the most personalized education for each individual child. Her most rewarding moments come from witnessing her students discover, and then embrace, their immense potential. Maggie’s commitment to not only education, but to build relationships with the community of trusted professionals has made her a respected leader in her field. Outside of Fusion, Maggie serves on the board of a non-profit, volunteers as a panelist for local and national webinars on topics such as supporting ADHD and learning differences, has penned articles in regard to supporting parents through difficult windows with their teens, and every now and then can be found as a guest on podcasts speaking on topics including adolescent development and anxiety.

“I feel close and passionate about the work of Smart Kids, it’s aligned in my own core values that all teens can learn. The organization does amazing work in supporting the youth in our community through events, newsletters, and youth achievement awards. We’re fortunate to have a resource like Smart Kids in our area representing the population of kids who need confidence in themselves and a reminder their diagnoses don’t define them,” said Gregory, Gala Honoree.

Minds in Bloom will feature a cocktail reception with music from Norwalk guitarist Glenn Roth, dinner, and silent and live auctions. Sherry Truhlar of Red Apple Auctions will serve as Master of Ceremonies and Auctioneer. A few exciting auction items are: Yankees v. Red Sox summer tickets, dinner in Manhattan and two house seats to the acclaimed Broadway show, The Who’s Tommy, and a guided tour, followed by lunch at one of the most popular exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum in Manhattan, among other sought after items and experiences. A variety of gift cards to Fairfield and Westchester County restaurants will also be in play during the ever-popular, Live Auction Feeding Frenzy.
Smart Kids with LD extends many thanks to its Gala sponsors, some of which include: Platinum: Marc Hoffman, the Sasco River Center; Gold: Fusion Academy of Greenwich & Westchester, The Bridge Program at Wooster School; Silver: Eagle Hill School, The Southport School, Winston Prep School; Bronze: Russo & Rizzio, LLC Attorneys at Law, Presti & Naegele Accounting Offices, Fairfield County Bank, The Pinnacle School. In addition, thanks go out to the underwriter for table decor, Essential Pediatrics.
