Wednesday, March 15th
12:30 – 2:30 pm

unnamedThe capacity to love requires the necessity to mourn when someone you love dies. This workshop is open to anyone who is experiencing grief in their lives. The program will contain practical ideas to help you mourn well, so you can go on to live well and love well. Among the content areas to be explored are:

  • Taking grief into mourning,
  • Becoming aware of the six needs of mourning
  • Understanding what your emotions are teaching you
  • Allowing for re-telling of your story and caring for your physical self

Join grief counselor, Catherine Miller, for this workshop. Pastoral ministry is in Catherine Miller’s blood. She’s a former missionary kid who was born and lived in Iran for her first 12 years. A sensitive child, Catherine was always drawn to people who were hurting and suffering. She later discovered she had the spiritual gifts of mercy and compassion. She currently serves as Director of Pastoral Programs and Adult Formation at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Dallas. She’s a grief counselor, lay chaplain and completed her first year of hospital chaplaincy – CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. She’s a fan of Dr. Alan Wolfelt, a world renowned grief counselor and author and has studied under him for the last five years. She considers it an honor to companion people in their grief.
