In honor of Father's Day, Meet a Dad! Or two… | New Canaan & Darien Moms

Wade Sunko

Nomination from Wade’s wife, Alessandra:
I would like to nominate my husband Wade Sunko who is incredibly supportive of me and an amazing Dad.
He has helped me build my career by taking away the stress between work in NYC and childcare for our  11year old son. We live in New Canaan and he is always available to help and take care of Brody. This has allowed me to focus on my career path and land an incredible job in NYC as Head of Retail Operations for Chanel which I start in July. My dream job materialized Largely because of his consistent and incredible dedication to our family life, which allowed me to go for it without worrying about the “what ifs”….
Wade does work and he is lucky to do it from Stamford, which allows him flexibility to be home for Brody and our family while I’m at work. He also owns a business called Sunko Films which he started last year and which produces drone footage and other media for real estate agents, schools, camps and even local event in the town.
He deserves a shoutout for helping me, helping our family and overall being a great support and a fabulous loving Father.

Meet Wade!

Briefly tell us about your family and how you ended up in New Canaan:
We moved 2 years ago from Darien. It was hard to leave as we love Darien,  but we always loved New Canaan too and fell in love with the house.
What is your favorite family activity this time of year?
We love strolling downtown, being outside , going to the parks in town. Being outside especially after this cold winter is key.
What’s your profession and/or  hobbies?
I’m a producer/editor for NBC Universal and also have a production company (startup) called Sunko Films.
What’s the best advice your dad gave you?
My dad taught me that honesty and kindness were always the two most important attributes to have.
What is the most important thing you’d like to impart upon your children?
To give 100 percent effort no mater what the results are.

Jay Eldredge

Nomination from Jay’s wife, Jen:
Our Super Dad saves the day and night! He’s a full time Dad, a full time husband and a full time nurse. After working a 12-hour overnight shift at Norwalk hospital, he comes home to pack lunches, attend school functions, volunteer in the classroom, take care of the yard, and the house. Then he grabs a little sleep just before the kids get off the bus and starts homework, drives to activities, hosts play dates and gets dinner underway. He does it all, with grace, love and humor. Super Dad, Super Husband, and the greatest role model for our sons.

Meet Jay!

Briefly tell us about your family and how you ended up in New Canaan:
My wife and I both grew up in Darien and our families are still here. It was really important for us to raise our children surrounded by family.
What is your favorite family activity this time of year?
My wife is a teacher so everyone in the house is pretty excited this time of year. I like to spend time with her and the kids outdoors at the beach or the pool.
What’s your profession and/or  hobbies?
I am a registered nurse at Norwalk Hospital. Working the night shift allows me to enjoy some golf or yard work during the day.
If you had to thank your dad for one thing, what would it be?
I’d like to thank my dad for showing me that you’ve got to do the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest thing.
What is the most important thing you’d like to impart upon your children?
I want my boys to show respect and kindness. I want them to notice the way I treat people, all people. To put it simply, follow the golden rule.
