Thank you, for the invitation to introduce ourselves to your community. Hello all! We are Kathryn and Jennifer, two sisters passionate about great food and wellness. We started our bakery in Pound Ridge this spring and have found a great community of folks who, like us, want great food, but don’t want to pay for their enjoyment with not feeling great or worrying about health issues. The idea for our bakery started out very simply. We wanted delicious gooey chocolate chip cookies, thick slices of fresh baked bread, the deepest, richest, chocolate brownies ever. I could go on and on, but the point is we wanted it all. However, we wanted it all made from “real” ingredients, pure ingredients, unmodified and un-mucked with! And we were dissatisfied with the options available to us: the cookies were too sweet, the bread was too processed. Inevitably we would be unable to identify many of the ingredients listed on the package. So we decided to make it all ourselves. We started making everything from scratch and even created a blog (thescratchartist.com). But ultimately we weren’t going to be satisfied until we could share our new foods with our community. For years we were just the best house to visit, always having baked goods to share and filling our home with sweet aromas. We are thrilled to now be able to share our passion and hard work with so many more families.
When we met Nina she told us what a challenge it is to attend or host events for young children when there are so many dietary restrictions. One of our specialties is being able to meet many dietary needs without sacrificing flavor or enjoyment. For the Holidays we are offering a gluten and dairy-free cookie assortments for you to bring to your events, share with your families…or perhaps enjoy solo as you watch the Netflix series you haven’t had a chance to see! Normally, I try not to tell people that our cookies are gluten are dairy-free before they taste them. Some people will instantly turn their nose up at the idea of gluten-free. But these cookies are gluten and dairy-free because they are better without the gluten or dairy! With our cookies, you won’t even need to have the gluten options. Everyone will like love these cookies. And there is a flavor for everyone: mint double chocolate chip, Zesty Cranberry Oatmeal, Ginger Root, Chocolate Chip, Almond Biscotti, and Macadamia Chocolate Chip,
