About Breast Cancer Alliance
Breast Cancer Alliance is one of the most prominent breast cancer charities in the United States. It invests in profound, innovative breast cancer research, in breast surgery fellowships to encourage highly skilled breast surgeons to enter the field, and in breast cancer-related health care services for underserved patients removing barriers of access to their essential care.

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have three boys—ages 12, 10 and 7.

What brought you and your family to town?
We relocated to Darien from NYC almost 4 years ago. Our family of five had outgrown our two-bedroom apartment and were looking for a great town with amazing schools to call home. A close friend recommended we look in Darien and the rest is history!

What’s the best part about being part of the community?
We love living in Darien because it is a wonderful, friendly, welcoming community. Our family stays active with sports and activities as well as volunteering in the community.

How did you get involved with the Breast Cancer Alliance?
Following my diagnosis with Breast Cancer, I was introduced to the Breast Cancer Alliance through a friend and neighbor who is an active volunteer and survivor. Her support and knowledge has been a gift during this challenging time. I am excited to be supporting the Breast Cancer Alliance’s Family Game Night!

Tell us about the upcoming Family Game Night…
For the last few years, Breast Cancer Alliance has run a very successful afternoon for families with our Kids for a Cause fashion show and carnival. Due to COVID-19, we are months away from being able to hold in-person events, but we still want to connect with young families. Family Game Night is a way to keep everyone safe, engage in fun activities at home or on vacation, and come together, from all across the US this year, to support the critical work of BCA. For those families who can, join us for Bingo Friday, February 19th at 6pm as actress and Fairfield County native, Ashley Aufderheide, calls the game! If you can’t tune in, the game box is still a perfect assortment of timeless games and activities for families to use on any night, so order one just the same!

What’s your favorite family activity to do in the area?
We love walks in Woodland Park, enjoying our beautiful beaches and have all been having fun learning to play paddle.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
A happy mom is a good mom. Take time to take care of you!

We love supporting local businesses. Favorite places in town to…
Dinner with Kids:
Burgers, Shakes & Fries
Grab a drink with friends: Ten Twenty Post
Have a date night: Scena Wine Bar and Restaurant
Spend time together as a family: Lets go to the beach!
Grab coffee:
Neat or Roost
