Tania Fabiani says fashion has always been a part of her life. Italian and Argentinian but raised in Brazil, she recently launched Acuarela with acclaimed Brazilian designer Marcelo Quadros. “Acuarela is a luxury fashion platform rooted in Latin American culture, dedicated to showcasing exceptional designers from across the region. We curate brands that combine craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural identity, introducing them to the U.S. market through both online and intimate in-person experiences,” shares Tania.
For this week’s Meet a Mom, we asked this stylish mother of three about investing in Acuarela, her passion for sharing Latin-American designers, and her favorite trends for 2026.
What was the impetus, aha moment, or inspiration for your launching?
The inspiration to invest in Acuarela came from realizing how many extraordinary luxury designers exist in Latin America who are largely unknown in the U.S. Having lived in Brazil and experienced the culture and fashion scene in São Paulo—one of the world’s most influential fashion capitals—I wanted to create a platform that translates not just the clothing but also the lifestyle, artistry, and soul of these countries into fashion for a global audience. Marcelo Quadros was foundational to my inspiration; I have seen his talent over decades, and I wanted to share his work with the world. The birth of my daughter, Bella, who is Marcelo’s goddaughter, has inspired me further.
What has the response been so far?
The response has been incredibly positive and very encouraging. Our customers are loving the pieces, receiving compliments when wearing them out, and the support has been truly unbelievable. We’ve also hosted special events for our clients, like a Polo cabana experience, to show our appreciation and continue building that connection and community.
What were your favorite things to give this past holiday season?
I love gifting accessories and special pieces that feel thoughtful and unique, especially items that can be worn year after year. Scarves, jewelry, and our pajamas from Joge are always favorites to give repeatedly—pieces like the Twin Earcuff make for an effortless yet meaningful gift.
What are the fashion trends for 2026 you’re loving?
Lace is one of the most captivating trends for 2026, and what excites me is how designers are reimagining it through such a modern, elevated lens — we’re seeing it all over the runways, including beautifully at Saint Laurent, where it feels powerful, sensual, and unmistakably luxurious. It’s romantic, yes, but with strength and presence. I’m also incredibly drawn to impeccably tailored matching sets, especially shorts paired with a sharp blazer or refined bomber; they strike the perfect balance of sophistication and modern edge, offering an effortless elegance that feels very relevant right now.
