Meet Anne! - New Canaan & Darien Moms

Welcome to your Meet a Mom Interview!

Where are you from originally?
I’m originally from Naperville, IL. After college, I lived in Cambridge, MA for 6 years and then moved back to the Chicago area to go to business school.

How long have you lived in New Canaan? How many kids and their age(s)?
We’ve lived in New Canaan for 10 years. I have three children – an 8-year-old daughter and 6-year-old twin boys.

Favorite things to do with your kids in general or in town?
New Canaan is such a special place for families and raising kids – we feel so lucky to be part of such an amazing community. We love walking to town for frozen yogurt at Swirl and picnicking at Waveny Park. We also enjoy weekends spent hanging out with other families on the soccer sidelines – there is such great team spirit in our town.

Whats your favorite restaurant in town for a family dinner? A night out with friends?
I love that we have so many great restaurants in New Canaan. My kids adore Mexican (mostly because chips are served as soon as they sit down), so Tequila Mockingbird is our family favorite. Baldanza is my go-to for lunch with friends and Sole is my favorite for a couples’ night out…and we always count the days in the Spring until it’s warm enough to eat outside at the Apple Cart in Mead Park.

What are your favorite events in New Canaan?
The Family Fourth fireworks is hands-down my favorite event. There is so much community spirit there – not to mention it’s just a fabulous show! At Christmas Eve, caroling on God’s Acre is truly magical. It’s such a special and unique night that brings people from all over New Canaan together.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I think people would be surprised to know that I’ve traveled to all 50 states – especially since we barely left New Canaan when our children were small! With family spread across the country and my dad having quite a bit of vacation time, my summers growing up were spent going on sightseeing road trips. I have such wonderful memories of playing games in the car and seeing so many new places that broadened my horizons – I really hope to be able to give our children the same experience.

What do you most value in your friends?
New Canaan is full of so many amazing moms, and we’ve met so many wonderful friends living here. I’m constantly inspired by friends who have done so many interesting things with their lives and volunteer in so many ways for our schools and community. A huge hug to all of them who have given me such wonderful advice, been so supportive and just made life here so much fun!

What was your career before having children?
I started my career working as a consultant for software companies and after going to business school joined the Finance Leadership Development Program at JPMorgan Chase. My last role before having children was working as the business manager for one of the investment banking coverage groups.

Anything else you want to add? Feel free to include a business venture, involvement in local organizations, etc.
I recently joined Connec-to-Talk, a pediatric behavioral health firm with therapy centers in Wilton and Stamford as Chief Financial Officer. Its been such a fantastic opportunity to combine my experience in finance working for a firm that makes such a difference in the lives of children who may need speech, OT or autism services.
