Where are you from originally?
I grew up in Riverside, CT.
What made you choose New Canaan or Darien over other towns in the area? How long have you lived in your town?
When we started looking for our first home with kids, the schools and amenities of the town were very important to us. Darien really fit that bill. We also really like the size of Darien as it is a community where you can run into friends. We have been living here for 12 years and we are so happy with our location! It is so convenient to many other areas.
How many kids do you have and what are their age(s)?
My son is 12 and my daughter is 10.
What are your favorite things to do with your kids in general or in town? Include something fun that pertains to the season your post will go live during.
We live right near Woodland Park so we love to take family walks with our dog there (who likes the pond a little too much. Wet dog!). It is a nice size where you can take a lot of different trails but be able to return home quickly enough.
What are your favorite events or favorite season in New Canaan or Darien and why?
I love spring and summertime…it is just so pretty to see the parks blooming and spend time at the beach.
Three things in New Canaan or Darien that you can’t live without:
The beach, Woodland Park and the great teachers who support my kids.
What’s the best way to relax and unwind in New Canaan or Darien?
We enjoy going down to the beach and taking out our kayaks. We often will bring guests down to enjoy dinner at the beach and there is nothing like a beautiful sunset to complement your meal.
What is one piece of advice you would pass along to other moms?
As a working mom, it is easy to feel compelled to do everything. But do try to take time for yourself and delegate, if you can. You will feel better in the long run.
