Tell us about Fletcher Development and the company’s specialties…
We’re a full-service construction company that specializes in custom home construction and maintenance along with our commercial division focusing on opportunistic acquisitions of real estate assets. We construct new homes, home renovations of all sizes, and have an estate management division to ensure our product always stays at the level it was intended to. What makes us stand out is our attention to detail and not dismissing the smallest of details.
You have locations in Fairfield County, Westchester and the Hamptons – why did you choose these locales?
I grew up in Fairfield county, so the Hamptons and Westchester are by-products of our community of followers that ask to build in.
What separates you from other developers in the area?
We have many trades in-house, which helps keep costs down, while maintaining quality and timelines. It’s imperative to deliver excellent quality, with the finest materials and systems that fit into the customers budget.
You are family owned. How is that an asset to your business?
We’re a first-generation company. Our business is based on lifelong relationships, so maintaining these relationships is really important to us.
How did your business start, and how has it grown?
We started in speculative homes and then grew to custom homes, thanks to our referral business. At Fletcher, we create low-maintenance, high-efficiency homes that are aesthetically pleasing. Beautiful, easy and safe—that’s always our goal.
Can you tell us about “Fletcher Care?”
Fletcher Care is a year-round full home maintenance and preventive program for homes throughout New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island. This program allows for all types of customers to customize the right package for themselves and their family’s based on all home and budget types.
Please explain a recent home project…
This Darien waterfront home is tucked away in a private association and offers the expansive views overlooking historic Scott’s Cove out to Long Island Sound. We worked hand in hand with Bo Malpass and the talented owner directly to ensure a highly sophisticated design and build. The final product shows the time and thought that was put into every decision.
