- How many children do you have and what are their ages?
I have two girls who are 3 and 8 months. - What brought you and your family to town?
I grew up close by and my husband and I wanted to live within an hour commute from NYC, in a town with good public schools, and on the water… so Darien made a ton of sense! One of the co-founders, Hadley, has also spent lots of time in Darien as her Mom grew up in town. - What’s your favorite aspect about being part of the community?
We moved to Darien from NYC about a year ago and I have been pleasantly surprised by how much of a sense of community I have felt in Darien from the start. I have found everyone to be welcoming and open to share tips from the best places to get lunch to great camps for toddlers and that has been really refreshing coming from NYC. - What’s your favorite family activity to do in the area?
We spent a lot of time at the beach in the summer and really enjoyed having Friday night pizza nights at Darien Boat Club, a fun casual spot to have dinner and happy hour with friends while kids run around.
- Can you tell us more about your involvement in My Pediatrician Friend? What is the story behind how this group of women got together and the subsequent launch?
I joined My Pediatrician Friend (MPF) as their head of partnerships this Fall after spending 15+ years in corporate Business Development and marketing jobs. The company was founded by three Doctors who are also Moms and all really get the pain points parents face and created a subscription service that fills the gap between going to your pediatrician for a visit and going down a late night Google or Reddit rabbit hole. I was an MPF customer before I joined the team and wanted to help them grow as I truly believe that this service can offer a lot of value to families today. - Just a text message away, you support parents navigate their children’s health. Please share more about the services you offer.
MPF offers a subscription service where you can text the three board certified pediatrician moms with unlimited questions about your child’s health. As we all know, doctor visits are short and questions come up in between, so having a pediatiricans number in your phone to text whenever you want to get realistic, thoughtful answers helps you feel supported and prepared to tackle your kids medical needs.. We also offer gift cards which make an amazing baby shower gift because having a newborn leads to so many questions. - What is the most rewarding part about your job?
Closing partnerships with influencers and brands to help the team grow awareness with more families is fulfilling. The founders and three pediatrician Mom’s – Hadley, Brooke and Saskia love being able to share their knowledge and experience with their clients and give parents back the brain space to focus on other things. It’s particularly amazing when an explanation and conversation can de-escalate a stressful situation or save someone an in person visit. - What’s the best advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
You know your kid best. There is a lot of noise out there and everyone has an opinion and I think reminding yourself to trust your gut is always helpful. - Any words of wisdom?
