New Canaan Memorial Day Parade! | New Canaan & Darien Moms

From the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce: The Town of New Canaan invites residents to the Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29, 2017. The Parade steps off at 9:30 A.M. and will conclude with the Ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery.
The theme of the Parade is ‘To remember with gratitude and honor the proud men and women who gave their lives while serving in the US Armed Forces to protect and preserve a life of freedom for all Americans’.

4. Pledge of Allegiance – First Selectman
5. Veterans Ceremony – First Selectman introduces VFW Commander

8. VFW – Gun Salute – Taps
9. Town Band
10. Benediction – Clergy
11. Final Announcements – First Selectman
In the event of heavy rain, a cancellation notice will be posted on the Town website, www.newcanaan.info.
In place of the parade a Memorial Ceremony would take place in Town Hall with limited seating.


The First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan is once again inviting the entire New Canaan community to its annual town-wide Memorial Day Barbecue and Family Fun-Fest, beginning at 11 am immediately following the town parade and dedication service at Lakeview Cemetery, and running until 2 p.m. This event is free!
