New Canaan YMCA Introduces Youth Total Conditioning Program this Fall
New Canaan, CT/ September 2, 2016— The New Canaan YMCA is introducing the new Youth Total Conditioning program to the Parisi Speed School Program at the Y. The program is for children ages 7-18, focuses on physical fitness and health awareness, and is open to both members and non-members.
The Youth Total Conditioning Program is designed to get youth off of the sofa, off of electronics and into having physical fun and getting fit. The program develops good exercise habits and awareness of nutrition, as well as addressing “off-the- field” challenges facing youth today.
Parisi Youth Total Conditioning uses fun and exciting modalities like medicine balls, resistance bands, partner body weight exercises, ladders, plyometrics and yoga. It also incorporates Parisi’s speed training methods and the latest in performance and strength to make this program come alive and produce results.
“The Parisi program has trained our boys very well physically, but also given them a little boost in confidence,” said Kelly, parent of a Parisi Speed School participant. “Whether your son our daughter is an athlete or not, it’s a program that makes your child feel good about himself/herself, sets goals they can attain, and teaches them to keep moving.”
On Saturday, September 17 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm the New Canaan YMCA will host an evaluation day for new and current participants of the Parisi Speed School program. Evaluations will be divided into two groups: the Cat Club Challenge for children ages 7-11 and the Combine Challenge for children 12 and older. In both groups, children will participate in five events: 10/20 yards sprints, vertical jump, 5 hop jump test, 5-10- 5 shuttle, and chin-ups. The evaluations allow the performance coaches to tailor a workout regimen that’s specific to each individual participant. The Parisi Speed School is the #1 youth sports performance program in the country, providing participants with a positive training experience that improves overall speed and strength, as well as promotes self-confidence and character building.
