DARIEN TOGETHER – HOLIDAY 2020
The Corbin District is teaming up with The Darien Chamber of Commerce to spread the joy of the season and to support our local retailers during this holiday season. 2020 has been quite a year, and it has never been more important to support our local shops. We have so many amazing businesses here in Darien, many of which are locally-owned and operated, with incredible service and high quality and unique offerings.
Despite the challenges we have faced since March, the last few months have presented a number of silver linings which have highlighted the resilience of our incredible community. COVID has not kept us down, with many new residents and businesses arriving in Darien despite all that we have weathered! This venture between The Corbin District and The Darien Chamber of Commerce will enable us to support our community businesses and at the same time thank residents and visitors who chose to shop locally. We are calling our campaign Darien Together!
Darien Together – Holiday 2020 is a social media campaign that will be fun and rewarding for all. On Thursday, November 12th, the Darien holiday wreaths will be lit. From this date until December 24th, we will draw winners to receive $250 gift certificates that can be redeemed in our local shops who are members of the Darien Chamber of Commerce and/or businesses in The Corbin District. The winners of the drawings will select the shop they wish to buy from. Entering is easy, all you need to do is snap a photo—a selfie in a local shop, of a beautiful display in the store, or a picture of the store where you made a purchase with your favorite find – then post it on Instagram and/or Facebook and tag the store you are posting about, @thecorbindistrict and @darienctchamber.
Every Friday we’ll draw up to 12 winners from the tagged submissions. Each winner will receive a $250 gift certificate to spend at a participating shop. The Darien Chamber of Commerce and The Corbin District will be offering over $15,000 in gift certificates over the next few weeks—to support our local business and to thank our community for shopping locally this year. On December 24th, all participants will be placed in a season-ending drawing to win one night at The Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, or two nights at The Taconic Hotel in Manchester, Vermont, or one night at Hero Beach Club in Montauk!
The holiday season may look a bit different this year but we are in it together. Darien strong!
