Join the MacAllister family to walk on behalf of their seven year old daughter, Scarlett, to find a cure for her disease, Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide).  A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections and obstructs the pancreas blocking natural enzymes which help the body break down and absorb food.  Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30’s, 40’s and beyond.

Help bring “sunshine” to the families who battle this disease every day of their lives and give them hope for more tomorrows. Click here to read more about Scarlett’s story and how you can participate in the 2.8 mile walk around Waveny for a cure!
