Taste of the Town Stroll
Thursday, August 25th, 6-9pm
Love food? You will love what the New Canaan Chamber has planned for the ‘Sixth Annual Taste of the Town Stroll’ sponsored this year by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services of New Canaan the event will be held on Thursday, August 25th. Do not miss this important annual ‘food-raiser’ – where your New Canaan Food Pantry donation guarantees you a stroll map, listing over 20 participating stores and restaurants offering tasty samples and prizes.
The stroll will begin at 6pm; pick up your map in front of the Movie Theater. Once you have visited all the required locations, your completed map can be returned and entered into the prize pool worth thousands of dollars! Many local businesses have been generously donated prizes including the Grand Prize of a weekend in a BMW courtesy of BMW of Ridgefield.
Food Pantry items needed include: coffee (all types) juice boxes, crackers, pasta sauce, canned stew, canned chicken, mayonnaise, tea bags and family sized snacks. If you don’t want to carry a heavy bag of groceries visit Walter Stewart’s Market the week before the Stroll, as they will be selling “pre-packaged” bags for $15 and $25 each. These bags have a retail value of $25 and $40 each, and are available only thanks to the generosity of Walter Stewart’s Market. Just bring along your receipt to the Stroll and you are good to go!
If you prefer to enjoy an evening of shopping and don’t want to feel rushed, then spend $200 in stores on the evening and you will also be entered into the prize draw. Be sure to save your receipts and simply drop them off at the registration table to be entered to win. New this year three generous merchants; Sara Campbell, Togs and Vineyard Vines are offering a 10% discount and to donate 10% of their sales back to the New Canaan Food Pantry the afternoon and evening of the Stroll.
