Keep your Middle Schooler active in spirit, mind, and body this winter with some exciting new programming at the New Canaan YMCA!
The Y adds an assortment of new Middle School programs for youth in grades 5-8. This winter, children can experience what it’s like to compete in four different Olympic events with the Winter Olympian Program. The nine-week activity will provide participants with unparalleled access to the amazing sports of curling, snow-shoe/archery biathlon, skiing, and snowboarding. For individuals who are only looking to stick to the slopes, there will be a Middle School Ski & Board Club. The group will meet at the Y on Friday afternoons, and be provided with transportation to Thunder Ridge Mountain to shred the snow for three hours before heading back to New Canaan. New middle school programs also include an afterschool dodgeball league and the Checkmate Club.
A complete listing of middle school activities being offered for winter 2016-2017 is available at the New Canaan YMCA Front Desk and may also be viewed online at www.newcanaanymca.org. For additional information, call Luke Mackenzie, Youth and Teen Program Coordinator at the New Canaan YMCA,

About the New Canaan YMCA
Founded in 1954 by a group of community volunteers, the New Canaan YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enrich all people in spirit, mind, and body. As an inclusive community service organization, the YMCA turns away no one for reasons of race, religion, or economic background and last year awarded the equivalent of over $300,000 in financial assistance. Serving the communities of New Canaan, Pound Ridge, and South Salem, the YMCA also strives to partner with a variety of outside organizations to further its role as a community service provider.
