The Summer Theatre of New Canaan (STONC) will debut the world premiere of “Peter Pan” during its 15th anniversary season. Written by Bros Do Prose, the Chicago based Theatre for Young Audience (TYA) company, this unique performance features just 2 actors performing more than 20 characters with high energy and theatrics. Performances run on weekends from June 23-July 29.

Founded in 2004 by Ed and Melody Meitrott Libonati, STONC has become recognized as one of Connecticut’s premiere summer theatres featuring award winning musicals, quality young family theatre and education programs. This is the second year STONC will be debuting a production by Bros Do Prose, a Chicago-based theatre company that adapts literature into 2-person immersive, educational and physically electric shows. Through imaginative story-telling, audiences will see heroes and villains, sword fights and surprises, love and loss. Young and old will be hooked by the adventure…if they believe!

In July, STONC will introduce two additional TYA shows: the Pasek & Paul musical of Roald Dahl’s “James and the Giant Peach” and the new clowning mime show “Balloonacy.” For a limited time, STONC is offering families a ticket special- three shows for the price of two.

In addition to its TYA summer productions, STONC’s award winning education programs give local youth the opportunity to experience professional theatre year-round.  Its series of Young Audience Theatre Shows brings professional theatre performances to elementary and middle schools across the state. STONC also offers several summer programs for area children and young adults, including its high school theatre intensive, middle school Junior Company, professional college internships and DramaRamas, its award-winning performance program for children 8-18 with special needs.
