We are very excited to welcome Your CBD Store to Elm Street, the newest merchant to open in New Canaan. In this small business feature, we interview the founder and owner, Anthony Pisano.
How did you decide to launch Your CBD Store in New Canaan?
I decided to open in New Canaan because of the community and how we can help the community with their ailments. Being able to help someone with a pain that they’ve been living with for years and that pain being relieved right in front of your eyes is a feeling of gratification like no other.
Do you have any personal ties to the community?
My family and I have many ties to the community, my two girls go to St. A’s here in town and my son goes to the New Canaan YMCA for daycare. Other than that, the kids are in sports programs around town and my wife and I enjoy going out to Spiga and Uncorked.
CBD seems to be the current craze right now, what are some of the benefits for those who have not tried it before?
CBD is widely used by people with stress and anxiety, also, CBD is also known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties, so it’s great for any type of joint or muscle pains caused by inflammation. CBD is only one of over 100 cannabinoids found in the hemp plant that can be beneficial to our endocannabinoid system.
Aside from CBD, CBG and CBN are two other major cannabinoids. CBG is more invigorating and interacts more with the brain and central nervous system making it a better product to help keep someone focused. CBN ironically enough helps relax you and get you into a REM sleep, we pair CBN with lavender and valerian root in our CBN+ product.
What types of CBD products do you carry and who is the ideal customer?
We have CBD in a few different formats. Tincture, which most people are used to if they take CBD now. Topical Cream, which is a New Canaan favorite because how quickly it reduces inflammation in joints/muscles (8-10 minutes). Our water-soluble product which can be put in any type or beverage (Champaign & Rose included) and taken that way. Finally, our Edibles which include a vegan line for anyone abstaining from animal products.
How has the community response been so far to the new store?
We have had a great response from the community because this is a natural way of healing and is helping people deal with the current situation. A lot of residents have stopped in wanting more information about the products and our goal is to help educate the community on the benefits of CBD and other cannabinoids.
Do you have a personal favorite product?
My personal favorite is the Strawberry-Lime water-soluble because I take it right before I cook dinner, feed the kids and put them to bed. All parents know that time of the day can be stressful and the water-soluble helps me during that time. The customer favorite over the past few weeks has been the award winning topical cream because it can help reduce inflammation.
