Shorter Session Camps: A Great Way To Try Something New This Summer

Shorter Session Camps: A Great Way To Try Something New This Summer

Whether you’re still looking to fill in gaps for this summer or exploring doing sleepaway camp for the first time next summer, shorter “session” camp options or other alternatives to a traditional summer-long stint can be a great idea. In fact, it’s something that more families are exploring. “The landscape of sleepaway camps has changed over the last ten to twenty years. Instead of focusing on one camp for a full summer, more families are now looking for a collection of experiences for their children,” says TLMN camp advisor Matt Candel.

The shorter sessions are also a great introduction for “newbie” campers who have a few weeks to get through the initial stress of being away from home for the first time combined with the opportunity to experience the activities, joy, and new friendships camps offer. When your camp rookies have an amazing session (which they almost always do!) they will be excited to sign up for the longer haul next year.
