HOUSE MATTERS. A Moms' Night Out Not To Be Missed! | New Canaan & Darien Moms

Have you been thinking about doing your kitchen, but aren’t sure where to start? Does the idea of renovating or (GASP!) selling/ buying make you want to curl up with a glass of wine and forget the thought even entered your mind?

Have any of the following questions ever crossed your mind? I love my street, but don’t love my house- where do I begin? At what point should I consult an architect? A designer? I have little kids, is it even a good time to take on a project? What rooms actually matter for resale? Are we putting too much money into this house? Should we just move? Do we even want to move right now (I’ve heard the market is just terrible.)? I found a house I love. I would totally move for it. Is it good value? Is it worth listing our house for?

If you answered yes, you’re not alone. Join the experts as they take the stress out of these processes and answer your questions about real estate, design and architecture in a relaxed and inviting environment.

MEET THE PANELISTS:

Lynde Easterlin enjoys creating casually elegant homes that are warm, comfortable, and have a seamless blend of traditional and modern style. She began her design career in New York working under the tutelage of John Rosselli, specializing in antiques and decorative works of art. She then honed her aesthetic as a lead designer for Charlotte Moss on projects in Aspen, Vail, New York, and the Hamptons. After nearly a decade of designing in New York, Lynde opened her own firm with recent projects taking place in New York, The Hamptons, and Connecticut. Lynde’s rich southern heritage stemming from her native Georgia, combined with over a decade of urban New York experience, gives her a fresh perspective that both respects tradition and embraces new ideas.

Katherine Eberly Spellane founded her architecture practice, WORKESHOP, upon moving to Darien in 2015. In the decade prior, Katherine worked in Chicago and New York for UrbanLab, Deborah Berke Partners & WORKac on projects spanning from high-end residential to creatively budgeted commercial to conceptual urban design projects focused on global water and food scarcity issues. This diverse experience allows WORKESHOP to flexibly navigate a wide range of styles and budgets, from hyper-contemporary to contextually appropriate traditional. Current work includes a handful of renovations and additions to homes in Darien and Rowayton, an exciting prospective local commercial project, and a conceptual project addressing transportation infrastructure in the Northeast Corridor.

Through extensive personal exposure to all matters of the home, Amanda has developed an exceptional fondness for interior design, with a keen eye for appropriately and functionally staging her client’s homes for sale, and creating living spaces that are practical for young families.
Lauren Jordan is an actor and comedian. She has performed throughout New York, and can be seen performing stand up in such venues as Dangerfields, Stand Up New York, the Village Underground, Eastville Comedy Club, and Sails Last Call. In addition to our panelists, we will also have 3 experts to field your questions in regard to landscaping, mortgages, and everything kitchen related.
