Hayley is the Stamford mom of three and RN behind Plow IV! She is sharing how her company is redefining wellness with a personal touch (especially for moms and moms-to-be) by crafting customized IV therapy designed to meet your individual needs, all from the comfort of your own home!

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have 3 kids. 7.5, 5 and 3

What do you love about living in Fairfield County?
I would say the thing I love most about living in Fairfield County is the landscape, especially in the fall! My family and I moved here from the west coast and worried a bit about the cold weather but we have truly enjoyed the seasons and the many family friendly outdoor activities it has to offer!

What are your favorite family activities in the area?
We love the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, especially the nature-made playground. We also love visiting the many farmers markets around Fairfield County.

How did your background as an RN lead you to start Plow?
For the past couple of years I have worked as a labor and delivery RN at Greenwich Hospital with a huge passion for women’s health. I also worked as a part-time contractor for a large, mobile IV hydration company on the side.

Both of the jobs led me to interact with so many different people and learned about each of their unique medical and wellness needs. The commonality between all of them was the need for personalized care and the need of convenience to obtain it. Working for another company and a hospital, I was limited to what I could offer to my patients (especially my pregnant ones) and so I asked myself, “Why not start something on your own?!”

After months researching the mobile wellness, medical and IV hydration industry, I decided to start building my own company from scratch and Phlow was born!

Fun fact: The PH in PHLOW was inspired by my favorite band, Phish. Ph also alludes to phlebotomy and the Ph balance in the body, both quite applicable to the services Phlow provides!

Tell us about IV Therapy and how it can be helpful for moms!
Most people think of the hospital and being critically ill when they hear “IV therapy.” While hospitalized patients do receive IV therapy, it is quite beneficial for many other people with different health and wellness needs.

A bit about Vitamin IV therapy: IV therapy involves the intravenous administration of a customized blend of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fluids tailored to address specific health concerns and goals. By bypassing the digestive system and delivering nutrients directly into the bloodstream, IV therapy ensures maximum absorption and efficacy. This targeted approach allows for rapid replenishment of depleted nutrients, making it an ideal solution for individuals with compromised gut health, nutrient absorption issues or people who struggle with a nutritious diet. Moreover, IV therapy offers a level of customization that traditional oral supplements simply can’t match. Whether you’re looking to boost your immune system, recover from the stomach flu, enhance athletic performance or combat the effects of aging, IV therapy can be tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. From vitamin C infusions to hydration therapy, the possibilities are virtually endless.

IV therapy is particularly helpful for moms, including those expecting, soon-to-be moms. We offer treatments with vitamin cocktails to support a healthy pregnancy, combat morning sickness, fatigue and breastfeeding success. All IV formulas have been created together with a board certified OBGYN to ensure safety for pregnancy. Phlow also offers immune boosting IVs to protect moms from catching all of the viruses the kids bring home from daycare and school. We also offer strep cultures, flu vaccines and basic medical needs at the comfort and convenience of their own homes! We all know moms benefit from convenience!

What is your personal favorite IV Therapy?
My personal favorite IV Therapy is the NAD+ Phlow because I feel like a  teenager again with energy and a super clear head after receiving it! I also love the Energy Phlow for quick hydration and an always-needed energy boost.

How do you juggle work and mommyhood?
I truly don’t know!! I kind of just go with it and roll with the punches as they come. Working and parenting is a wild ride that I am still figuring out!

What is the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
The best piece of advice I have gotten from another mom is to never judge yourself as a mother. It is such a hard job and a learning process, so be kind to yourself and stop feeling guilty or questioning your every parent-related choices. You are doing a great job! I have to remind myself of this daily!!
